UNOFFICIAL POLL

Sorry folks no unofficial competition this month as the Editor spent all the prize money- all 50p- at the new Arsenal shop!! (Only joking).

This month is the unofficial poll.

Which of these books comes under the ‘I would rather support Tottenham than buy/read this book’ category?

A) The Wild And Wacky World Of Watching Grass Grow - Author Theresa Green

B) Decorating The Whole House Can Be So Much Fun - Author Walt Paper

C) My Defence - Author A Cole

Please send your answer, and any spare change you might have, to:

The Fund For Current Really Underpaid Defenders (CRUD), The Team That Plays In Blue, Offshore Banking, The Caymen Islands.

THE MONTH IN MOMENTS

Sep 9- Middlesbrough (H) 1-1

One shot on goal they get, and they score!! Like a rash we are all over them, but it is all plan ’A’ , with more screaming of ’shoot’ from the crowd. Eventually the luck goes our way, and a lovely Henry penalty gets us a draw.

Sep 13th- Hamburg (A) 2-1

The perfect start with their goalie being sent off (a bit dodgy!), an early goal, and looking in control. Hamburg are still looking threatening until an absolute screamer from Rosicky puts us two up. Even then they looked as though they would get back into the game, and their late goal made it a tense last few minutes.

Sep 17th- Man Utd (A) 1-0

What a great game, and what a difference. Come on who thought it wasn’t going to be our day when Gilberto slipped taking the penalty? We were allowed to play our game, the 4-5-1 system looked good, and we were dominant. The Lehmann save at the end has to go down as the save of the season!!

Sep 23rd- Sheffield Utd (H) 3-0

Back to the nervy plan A only approach in the first half, and give the opposition their due they try to have a bit of a go as well. Come the second half a different story as we seemed to find a slightly alternative approach, and then the goals came, including a rare Henry header!!

Sep 26th- Porto (H) 2-0

I would say our best home game by far. Totally dominant, we hardly gave the opposition a sniff, and two excellent goals, including another Henry header!! Gallas is looking awesome, and hope his injury is not to bad.

Sep 30th- Charlton (A) 2-1

What a game, and what a goal!! We were dominant, but could have conceded a couple more as well. Some praise has to go to Eboue, who might not be the best defender in the world, but he is certainly learning how to cross a ball!!

NEWSLETTER

Next months newsletter will be out slightly later as the Editor is going away for a well earned holiday (lying down in a darkened room for a couple of weeks!!).Also in the next issue there will be details of feedback we have from Arsenal regarding possible improvements to the new stadium/ticketing arrangements

RED MEMBERS

Can Red members please only book their tickets through the club, and not directly through Arsenal/Ticketmaster as this can be detrimental to the club, and goes against club rules.

Also, a reminder to all members, please book tickets for games only on the official telephone numbers. Ticket orders will not be taken any other way.

THE MONTH IN MOMENTS

AUG 8th Dinamo Zagreb (A)

3-0 Dinamo got their tactics wrong against an Arsenal team that were not fully fit/ firing on all cylinders. Bar a couple of minor scares the game was quite comfortable, with Hleb, and especially Fabregas, shining, and three typical Arsenal goals.

AUG 19th Aston Villa (H)

1-1 New stadium, same Arsenal! In total control of the game, loads of set pieces that were not converted, one good goal ruled out for offside, the opposition get one set piece and score! Arsenal then spend the rest of the match chasing the game, and it is only when Walcott comes on that they start to look like scoring. A great equaliser from Gilberto, and thought they might go on to win it.

AUG 23rd Dinamo Zagreb (H)

2-1 A more nervy game where Arsenal looked in controlwithout being threatening, whereas the opposition score first from a defensive error, and look like scoring again to put the game more in the balance. Again on comes Walcott and the game comes to life with Arsenal scoring two late goals to win it.

AUG 26th Man City (A)

0-1 Another typical frustrating Arsenal performance. Like a thick person on mastermind it was pass, pass, pass. A couple of good penalty decisions turned down, they get one attack, and a lucky penalty decision. From then on it is total domination, without turning possession into goals. Not even Walcott can save them this time.

  UNOFFICIAL COMPETITION

Ever dreamt of playing for Arsenal, and scoring in those famous red and white colours? Well here is your chance. Just answer the question below for a chance to play for your beloved club:-To score a goal you must:

A) shoot

B) play golf

C) go out with a supermodel?

n.b. if your answer is A) I’m afraid you are incorrect and cannot play for Arsenal.

Please send your answers to- ’ We do not listen to 50,000 people screaming SHOOT

when it is obvious’ competition, the training ground, somewhere in London.
